I still get a little heat for bringing this up but c’mon! 10’s of thousands of people eagerly awaiting that magical moment that kicks in the Holiday season in this quaint little town called Kansas City is clearly a tradition that could only play here.

I really believe that nothing quite describes KC as the ceremony known as the “lighting of The Plaza lights” is that really how it is worded?

Now I do not hesitate to tell everyone and anyone that I have grown to love Kansas City and all it’s oddness mixed with down home feel goodedness (Goodedness is not a word? Spellchecker says no. I say yes.)

I also can’t deny that bundling up with family and friends on a Thursday night to OOOHHHH and AHHHH the pretty colors as they usher in that holiday cheer on top of Eddie Bauer and strewn along the sides of The Cheesecake factory gives me a little bit of giddy feeling. Perhaps it is because it tells me Xmas is on the way or perhaps it tells me “Hey, you have done a lot of traveling but nothing compares to yellow lights on an American Chinese restaurant that provides an upscale atmosphere and friendly service at a decent price when it comes enjoying the spectacle that is the Holiday season”.

Let’s be clear about a couple of things as well. I am currently wearing an Eddie Bauer sweater and I love the taste of Changs Spicey chicken and nothing hits the spot on a brisk winter evening quite like a Lettuce Wrap!
