No one knows the lyrics to Pearl Jam’s “Yellow Ledbetter”… Not even Eddie Vedder… In fact he says he just makes up the words, or improvises them, whenever the band plays the song live… The rest of us, no doubt, have had our various interpretations over the years… Sometimes they have probably been as ridiculous as this:

You know, I always thought Eddie was actually singing words, but I just couldn’t understand him. I’ve heard people complain about the lyrics in Red Hot Chili Pepper songs–that they don’t make any sense; they’re just a string of rhyming words. Well, at least they are words and not just a string of vowel and consonant sounds.
